The Hay House – A National Historic Landmark

The Master Plan for restoring the Hay House, a National Historic Landmark that functions as a house museum and event venue, included top-to-bottom needs from the foundation, which has presented numerous rising damp and waterproofing issues, to the cupola and roof, which have necessitated leak prevention and repair. Dr. Katheryn Brown of the Georgia Trust noted that our firm’s “experience with historic properties has yielded structurally sound workmanship with a sensitivity to original facades, materials, and fixtures.”
The WM2A work at the Hay House has included replacement and restoration of the historic roofing; restoration of the cupola; installation of foundation drainage and waterproofing; restoration of the Carriage House; re-creation of wood flooring and other finishes; restoration of the historic gazebo and fountain; addition of historically sensitive access for the handicapped; and various site improvements including driveway and hardscape.
