Project Info

WM2A Architects worked with church members and staff of Ingleside Baptist Church to develop a space for the church’s growing children’s worship needs. The project was constructed in roughly 30,000 square feet of shell space that had been constructed as a part of the New Worship Center project.

The Xtreme Kids theme was developed by Little Mountain Productions of Tulsa, OK. WM2A Architects worked with designers from Little Mountain Productions to shape the kids’ worship center, the stage, and the associated props and casework. Working from sketches provided by LMP and design contributions of our own, we provided working drawings to the contractor so that the overall scheme could be constructed. Then personnel from Little Mountain arrived in Macon to install many of the props and wall artwork.

The lower floor of the two-story facility houses a number of classrooms for preschool kids. These areas can be used both for weekly preschool activities and for activities related to Sunday School. The space features a secure “kid pickup/drop-off” area and a nice play space for preschool kids that can also be used for storytelling. This space features an aquarium on each side of the play area stage. The fish can be viewed on the corridor side of each aquarium, but they can also be viewed through “kid-height” portholes on the playroom side.
