SportsTowne was originally an indoor sports center housing soccer, roller hockey, volleyball, tennis, basketball, and a fitness center. The facility included offices, meeting rooms, a sports bar with golf simulators, and a pro shop. Locker rooms were provided for general users.
The facility also housed the training facility for the Macon Knights, an arena football team. The team disbanded after 5 years playing in the af2 league.
More recently, this facility has become the home of Christ Chapel. Portions of the building have been converted to church use, and other portions remain as athletic facilities.
